Follicular Unit Hair Transplant Surgery
Hair transplant surgery is a minor, in-office surgical procedure which can take from three to five hours depending upon how many grafts are placed.
Follicular units are 1 - 4 hair grafts that grow together out of the same pore of the scalp in nature. When dissected to be transplanted they are not separated, but are transplanted in their natural grouping. This allows for a totally natural hair transplant. It is the patent’s prerogative if they would like to have the grafts placed in stages or a large session at one time.
In male pattern baldness, the hair located at the back of the head remains for life. This is the area where the grafts are taken.
